Atm counters

The ATMs, short for Automatic teller machines, have profoundly changed the relationship between the Bank and its customers. With the introduction of ATMs, many of the traditional operations that were carried out with the desk clerk were replaced with do-it-yourself.

ATM COUNTERS
This new concept of 'self-service' banking soon took hold on the whole Italian territory and the ATMs, initially positioned only outside the Banks, spread like wildfire in all the major points of interest such as the shopping centers, airports, etc.

Through ATM machines it is possible to carry out various operations, using specially designed instruments such as Pagobancomat and Bancomat.

TOOLS FOR OPERATING WITH ATMS
To use the counter it is necessary to have the "Bancomat Card", that is a plastic card, equipped with a magnetic strip and a special microchip, which is simply called "bancomat".

ADVANTAGES OF ATMS
Customers, thanks to ATMs, have the advantage of being able to carry out all the operations they want at any time of the day, avoiding the queues inside the Bank. The operation of the ATMs is in fact 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Thanks to the possibility of printing a report of the movements carried out, in case of difficulty the customer can also contact the Bank later to ask for clarifications or to submit a request for reimbursement.

The operations carried out on the ATM are entrusted to a completely machinized system, able to guarantee the certainty of the accuracy of the counts set by the machine.

Another convenience offered by the service is to allow travelers to move without having to bring cash with them, a condition unthinkable a few years ago. If necessary, it is possible to withdraw only the necessary amount at any time of the day.

DISADVANTAGES
The service offered by ATMs also has disadvantages:

Withdrawal availability limit set by the Bank. Each circuit includes thresholds and scales that can be collected daily and monthly;
presence of an annual fee in addition to the running costs of the current account;
Commission charges. It is possible to incur commissions from an ATM that does not belong to the issuing bank circuit;
HOW TO ACCESS THE ATMS
The tool to access any Atm window is a special magnetic reading card, called Bancomat. This card is provided at the same time as a Pin, Personal identification number, with which it is possible to be identified by the machine.

During the operations at the ATM, once the card is inserted, the Pin is inserted. During these operations, a little privacy is a good rule, especially when entering the secret code. The same, for greater security, should be left at home and memorized by the owner of the Bancomat card.

HOW TO WITHDRAW CASH
Among the transactions allowed at the ATM is that of withdrawing cash from our bank account. This was one of the first operations allowed in an autonomous way, only later added other functions such as the request for a statement, the recharge of the mobile phone and the payment of cash.

The cash withdrawal procedure involves the insertion of the magnetic card through the appropriate slot prepared and indicated by a colored band. At this point the PIN code is requested and the machine will proceed to identify the current account.

The cash withdrawal operation is often constrained by a maximum daily and monthly threshold, established by the contract signed with the Bank itself at the time of opening the current account. From the Atm desk it is possible to pick up one of the pre-set sums or choose the exact figure using the wizard.

At the end of the operation it is advisable to check that the money leaked from the counter corresponds to our request, request and keep the receipt of the operations carried out.

HOW TO USE THE BANCOMAT CARD TO MAKE PAYMENTS
Our Bancomat card can also be used to pay for our purchases in all authorized stores. By law, these exercises must display outside the room an indication that warns us of the possibility of carrying out this type of operation.

Every business in possession of Pos, Point of sale, has a terminal connected directly to the banking network. This mechanism allows electronic payment through our magnetic card.

At the time of payment, the magnetic card is passed into a special reader and then inserted into Pin. In a few seconds the Bank checks the deposit of the sum on the customer's current account and authorizes payment. In a second time, within a few minutes, the Bank itself transfers the sum from our current account to the account of the merchant.

The operation ends with the printing of a receipt in two copies. One of these copies is issued to the customer, the other one kept by the shopkeeper.

HOW TO REQUEST THE BANCOMAT SERVICE
The magnetic card must be requested from the Bank with which we have a current account. In general, the service is susceptible to variable conditions from one institution to another. Some Banks provide for the free provision of the service, while for others it is subject to a monthly fee.

The different methods of service delivery are managed exclusively by the relationship between the Bank and the customer.

BLOCK THE ATM IN CASE OF THEFT OR LOSS
In case of theft, loss or other problems that may occur during the use of the service, customers must immediately call the toll-free number provided by their bank, which will block the card.
